Mentoring

Excerpt from the Legacy Student Handbook

Students are expected to meet in-person with a mentor, generally once per week, for 1-2 hours. At the end of each mentoring session, a student must fill out and sign a Mentoring Check-In Card, which will include the following information:

  • The location, date, time, and duration of their mentor meeting
  • The general areas and topics that were discussed
  • Who did what percentage of the talking
  • The level of depth and openness in the conversations.
  • Location, date, and time of next mentor meeting.
  • A section for notes and comments.
  • Signature

Generally, for a regular week where mentoring is expected, mentoring check-in cards are due on Friday at the end of the praxis debriefing.
